Platform

[vc_row inner_container=”true” padding_top=”0px” padding_bottom=”0px” border=”none”][vc_column][text_output]My 11 year old cousin wears a size 10 shoe. His feet are preparing now to be able to hold up what will be his very body. His dream is to play pro basketball and his feet are preparing to be able to hold up his dream; those big dawgs are the platform on which his dreams will stand. His shoe size doesn’t mean he’ll automatically achieve his goal, but he’s equipped with everything he needs to succeed. Aside from the height and strength, he has a passion to learn and to improve his skills, a dedication to practice, and the ability to recover and get back out there when he makes mistakes or gets beat. At 11, he isn’t just all talk, he puts in the work, he listens to those he knows know the game better than him, and he studies those who are where he wants to be.

Your dreams SHOULD feel bigger than you, they should scare you when you think about the work that will be required of you to bring them to life. What you see for yourself should confuse those you tell. Just like your shoe size, you grow into your dream; during the journey, you learn, mature, and develop through from experiences and the successes and learn from the perceived failures.

What I wouldn’t give to have been as tuned in as him at such an early age. For some people, the journey to finding their passion, being able to verbalize their dream, or know their purpose takes longer. For me, I ‘got it’ at age 26, but no matter what age you get it, dial in and connect with it. All in . . .  feet first.
